Some newer members will not know Rex. Since Rex was forced to give up running in 2012 he has turned his attention to nature activities, photography and music. He has combined them to some extent in an event he has organised to celebrate the life of Sandy Denny who was largely responsible for pushing folk rock into the limelight in the late 1960s and early 1970s through the group Fairport Convention.
Rex’s DVD – based show will consist of a representative selection of her songs, illustrated by a range of photographic sources including his own. There will be rare interviews, clips from her live performances, and BBC documentary excerpts. Rex will give a brief introduction to each of the twenty extracts.
The show will start at 7.30 pm and will consist of two 45 minute sessions with a 15 minute interval.
Tickets are at the standard cinema price of £6.95 and should be purchased in advance by telephone, or in person at the café in the Westbourne Arcade.
