Congratulations to Caroline Stanzel (1st overall) at yesterday’s Studland Stampede! As this was the last race of the 2017 Purbeck Trail Series, yesterday, Caroline was also awarded 1st overall female for the series and Sarah Swift was awarded 1st over all v40 for the series.
Sarah’s report on the overall series is below.
“2017 was the 4th Purbeck Trail Series. This year it comprised of 6 races, between 20th August and 15th October, where runners score points each time, with the best 4 results counting towards a variety of series prizes. The first race was the Lulworth 10k, then the Studland 5k, followed by The Beast, The Purbeck Marathon, then the Black Hill 10k and concluding with the iconic Studland Stampede, which starts and finishes on Knoll Beach. A fine collection of off road races, all in a stunning Dorset locations, over a variety of distances which provide something to suit and also challenge every participant.
There were best overall male/female prizes, age category prizes from 40 to 70, plus team prizes. Additionally there was a special commemorative award to any runner completing all 6 races.”
