SUMMARY:Club Welsh weekend
DESCRIPTION:The Welsh weekend this year is being held on 22nd/23rd Sept\, and is again at Llanthony Priory in the Black Mountains. It’s set in a remote area of stunning scenery.  The week-end is open to Poole Runners of all abilities.  It’s for running\, walking and foremost socialising. \nThe main accommodation is the bunkhouse barn. This has plenty of character and is comfortable with a well appointed kitchen. This is generally used for breakfast. Evening meals are usually in the nearby pub. \nMost travel up on the Friday (some meet at Weatherspoon’s in Abergavenny for a light lunch) arriving at Llanthony Priory bunkhouse in time for a short run or walk. On Saturday\, after breakfast\, there’s a group run open all\, usually returning around 1 pm.  Afternoon is free\, many visit Abergavenny.  For non-runners there is an organised walk that usually finishes mid-afternoon.   After breakfast on Sunday there is an optional walk followed by a leisurely drive home. \nThe bunkhouse cost is £30 for the two nights. SUMMARY:Club Barn Dance
DESCRIPTION:This year is the thirtieth anniversary of the Poole Runners Christmas Barn Dance.  It will be held on Wednesday 21st Dec\, (the year’s longest night) at the Junction Sports Centre\, with the fantastic Black Sheep providing the music as usual. We have a shortened run first \,usually the bottom loop of the figure of eight. This saves energy for the dancing. All welcome. Please pay £3 per head on the door to help pay for the Band. \nMembers are asked to bring buffet food to be shared amongst everyone.   It’s usually a wonderful evening.

DESCRIPTION:Hi all\, Mel and I thought it would be nice to plan something festive for the last Sunday before Christmas! The plan is to meet at 10am at the foot of Corfe Castle\, park in the lay by or in the national trust car park over the road\, wear a Santa hat\, for a fun run led by Geoff Scott or others. We will run/walk/take pics for an hour / hour and a half\, then drive to the Half Way Inn for drink / food as people wish (diners should call and book maybe?). This is open to all local runners – it will be very social – no one will be left behind – I cant imagine we will do any more than 7 miles! All are welcome (including dogs)\, you don’t have to be a Poole Runner or indeed a runner. Suitable footwear and clothing for the prevailing conditions are recommended as is a drink and cake for the mid-walk break. \nWalk 184\nDirections \nTake the A352 Wareham to Wool Road. Turn right to East Burton BEFORE the Wool train crossing. Drive about a mile and a half and the pub is on the right. \nA flat but very enjoyable country walk which twice crosses the River Frome\, visits Morton Village Church and the graveyard where Lawrence of Arabia is buried\, and returns through woods to the Bovington area.

SUMMARY:Welsh Weekend
DESCRIPTION:The Welsh training weekend organised by club members Geoff\, Chris and Janice will take place from Friday 23rd until Sunday 25th September 2016. \nThis year we will again be based Llantony Priory with members staying in a comfortable bunkhouse\, campsite or local pub the Half Moon Inn which has comfortable rooms and serves good food and drink. \nThere will be a shortish 4 mile run on Friday afternoon with a long run on the Saturday(some members may partake in a local fell race The Black Mountains instead). Another group will also do a long walk on the Saturday instead of the run. There will also be another run or walk on the Sunday. \nLast year(2015) was a great success with 30 ish members attending and enjoying fantastic weather. \nSpeak to Chris or Janice for further info.
