DESCRIPTION:Race Three  of the 2022 “Off Road” Club Championship Series \n\n\n\nAbout the route\n\n\nBoth races start from and finish at an ancient thatched barn in a historic tiny hamlet of Turners Puddle in the heart of Dorset. \nThe routes go straight uphill from the start\, and then follow farm tracks\, fields\, trails that wind through ancient woodlands\, old hidden holloways (sunken trails following historic drovers routes)\, short road sections through picturesque hamlets\, managed woodland tracks\, heathland\, and all in the glorious Dorset countryside. \nDespite all that lovely countryside though this race is not a pushover. In the marathon there are 13 hills\, around 1000m of elevation\, a fair bit of mud to lose your trail shoes in\, 7 stiles to clamber over while swearing\, & 2 fords.\nThe half boasts around 400m of elevation.

DESCRIPTION:Lulworth Castle 10K has become Coombe Keynes 10K but only the name’s changed: its still part of the Purbeck Trail Series and combine a friendly village event with a trail race on private\, estate trails not normally open to the public. \nThe race is run on a scenic\, hilly course wholly within the private and historic Lulworth Estate. From tracks on chalk downland to woodland paths there is outstanding scenery throughout the race’s 10km length. Located only a stone’s throw from Lulworth Cove and the Jurassic Coast\, this race is not to be missed regardless of whether you’re a fun-runner or seasoned club racer.

DESCRIPTION:Race 11 of the Club Championship (OFF ROAD) \nThe 5km and 10km races start together and split at around 3.5km. The split is clearly signed and marshalled. The colour of your race number indicates the race you are running\, so the marshals know how to direct you. \n\nAlthough the route is all on well worn trails\, some sections are boggy and some sections are steep. There are low branches\, tree roots\, and the occasional rabbit hole or farmer so please take care while competing and we would suggest you wear trail shoes if you have them (although not essential).\nIts a cross-country race\, please run within your limits\, a sprained ankle is no fun.

DESCRIPTION:The race start and finish is at the Blues Club Grove Road\, Portland. This is the home ground of Portland United Football Club and parking\, as well as toilet and changing facilities\, are available. To get there by road head for Weymouth then follow the  signs for Portland on the A354. Follow the main road to the top of Portland to the Heights Hotel roundabout. Go straight across the roundabout to Easton. After approximately 300 yards you will pass the Chesil Beach Motors Garage and the Recycling Centre on your left\, the next turning on the left is Grove Road. The PUFC ground is approximately 300 yards on your left. If using a Satnav enter the postcode DT5 1DP.
